My name is Anthony Milia and I graduated from Twinsburg High School in 2012. Back then, I was a B and C student with a drive to just finish High School and move on to the next step, whatever that looked like.
The sport programs taught discipline, teamwork, and commitment to personal and team goals. Teachers influenced many THS 12’ alumni’s decisions on what their next “step” was. Mr. Kirtley’s Interactive Media class influenced people to get involved in Filming, Acting, Broadcasting, and Video Production. Mr. DuBois influenced others to get into Business Administration, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing. Both teachers influenced me to get out of my comfort zone and follow my passion.
My next step was attending Kent State University where I received two Bachelor degrees in Entrepreneurship and Marketing. During my time at Kent State University, I was a Car Wash salesman during the day, Bouncer at a bar at night, and detailed cars between classes.
While a full-time student, I held internships at the U.S. Department of Commerce and Blackwolf Tactical. With the help of scholarships, I studied abroad in Europe for 7 weeks giving me the opportunity to travel to Italy, Croatia, Switzerland, France, and Greece. Studying abroad in College was one of the best decisions I made during my college career. This also influenced me to travel to South Africa in 2018 for a mission trip to learn about local challenges, raise funding for a water retention system, and sponsor several children to get them through schooling.
After graduating, I was accepted into a business program at the Iacocca Institute at Lehigh University where I was selected out of a world-wide applicant pool to represent the U.S. while 80 other individuals were selected to represent 30+ countries for a 5-week intensive program influenced by Lee Iaccoca.
Fast forward to 2021, I’m the owner of Milia Marketing. We are a Digital Marketing agency specializing in eCommerce Development, Social Media Advertising, Paid Media Advertising, and Search Engine Optimization. We work with small businesses to Fortune 500 organizations primarily in Cleveland, Ohio but also serve clients nationwide.
We’ve been named as a Top Digital Marketing Agency and eCommerce Development company in 2020 by Yahoo! Finance. I’ve served on the Board for local to global organizations, named Top 25 under 35 in Cleveland, and more.
After graduating from Twinsburg High School, I carried that same structure, discipline, and ability to manage time and applied it to my personal and professional goals.
Teachers make an impact inside the classroom that carry long after graduation. Keeping and providing new opportunities to students at an early age can drastically influence the path each student takes. I hope to see the city and the community work together to continue providing new opportunities for students and providing teachers with the resources they need to make an impact in and outside of the classroom.
