I am a parent in the Twinsburg City School District and I invite you to vote yes on Issue 6 on May 4. Issue 6 renews a levy for TCSD, it is not a new tax.

I have a first grader in the Twinsburg Virtual Academy and I describe our district employees, students and families as engaged, listening, agile, and striving for excellence.

I remember watching my daughter practice her writing at the beginning of Kindergarten. She slowly made a number five while reciting a poem: “Draw a line, take a dive, draw a belly, that’s a five!” Every day she came home with new capabilities, and growing independence.

Now at the end of first grade, she and her classmates have made great progress. They now fill their journals with pages of writing at a time, read independently, progress in math and let’s just say their computer skills are impressive!

I appreciate the connections between our community and school district. This is a good use of shared resources and teaches my kids they are members of a larger community. Through AYSO Soccer my daughter attended girls soccer night at a Lady Tigers soccer game. In the pandemic, our district worked with the library to support school programs like the Birthday book club, and Wilcox Reads week. When I take my kids to the pool, they see banners celebrating our high school swim team and are inspired to strive for excellence in school and sport. As a parent, this is what I want for all Twinsburg kids.

Thank you, Twinsburg residents, for your longtime support of our school district. Please join me in renewing that support by voting yes on issue 6, on May 4th .
